Our Manawa Ako
Manawa Ako is Heartland’s internship programme which was developed to provide opportunities for the next generation of rangatahi (young adults) to experience working in the financial sector and a corporate environment. Since its inception in 2017, 186 interns have come through our doors. Rangatahi are placed in almost all business units and a tuākana (buddy) is assigned to each intern, along with a work plan that keeps them engaged in the business for the duration of the internship. Many of our interns have continued on in full-time or part-time employment at Heartland.

Graduate recruitment
We recruit graduates throughout the year in full-time permanent roles. We take this approach so that our graduates can hit the ground running and start making a real contribution from day one. Instead of a formal graduate recruitment programme with short-term rotations, we’ll start you off in a real job and work with you to develop and grow your career at Heartland.
